HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The traffic signal poles are here on Route 611 —and they have arms.

Township officials said its Route 611 intersection improvement project —which began in mid-April —is speeding along.

Officials said late last week traffic signal poles and arms finally arrived for Easton Road and Moreland Avenue and are currently being installed.

Officials said the signal is anticipated to go on flash mode the week next Monday and will be fully operational by the end of the month.

The project will realign the intersection and add a new traffic signal, which will make the area much safer, township officials said.

The new traffic signal will also help slow traffic on that section of Easton Road.

It will also provide a connection to the Tinius Olsen Inc. company employees who have to make lefts in and out going to work, township officials stated.

The project is also jointly planned with the Horsham Water and Sewer Authority so they can install a public sewer line down Moreland Avenue from Hallowell Elementary to Easton Road to serve several residential properties whose private septic systems are failing.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of the year.
