State Rep. Cerrato To Spread Holiday Cheer In Horsham

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — If you know State Rep. Melissa Cerrato, you know that this holiday season is her favorite time of the year.

Anyone who has seen the movie "Christmas Vacation" knows that Cerrato can give anyone a run for their money when it comes to decorating the outside of a home.

These days, the state representative for Horsham, Upper Dublin, and Montgomery townships has been decorating her Horsham Road office to get ready for annual Holiday Open House next week. (See the flyer below for details)

"It's my third year hosting," Cerrato told Patch on Wednesday. "It's an opportunity to meet people in a social setting."

Cerrato holds open houses around Christmas and during the summer.

She found the summer session to be a great experience, just sitting around a table, talking to her constituents on a "human being" basis instead of just talking politics.

The event takes place at Cerrato's office on 605 Horsham Road from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10.

"It's less business and more about getting to know the community in more of a personal way, especially in the heat of politics today with all of the infighting," she said.

So Cerrato will try to spread some holiday joy.

And maybe even sing some Christmas carols or spin the dreidel. And, if you ask nicely, she may come over and help you decorate for Christmas too!
