Veterans Can Earn Hatboro-Horsham High Diplomas

The school district has launched a program for veterans who left high school early to fight for their country.

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Veterans who left high school early to serve their country now have a chance to earn a diploma through Hatboro-Horsham School District’s Veteran Diploma Recognition Program.

“Whether through personal choice or the call of the draft, these individuals faced the extraordinary burden of leaving high school to defend our freedom — a reality few can fully imagine,” said Dennis M. Williams, Jr., principal of Hatboro-Horsham High School. “By awarding these diplomas, we seek to acknowledge both their service and the education they so selflessly set aside."

Honorably discharged veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War who meet the following criteria can apply:

  • Residency: Currently reside within Hatboro-Horsham School District boundaries OR live(d) within the school district boundaries at the time of or after enlistment.
  • Documentation: Provide appropriate verification (e.g., discharge papers, proof of residency).

Veterans who have already received their high school diplomas are not eligible.

Veterans or family members of veterans wishing to apply should complete the application form no later than Wednesday, Oct. 8.

A recognition ceremony will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, with details to be announced to those who apply. Diplomas may also be awarded posthumously, provided proper documentation is submitted.
