Assistant Superintendent Tapped To Lead North Penn School District
The North Penn School District announced it has chosen Todd Bauer to replace retiring Superintendent Curtis Dietrich later this month.
LANSDALE, PA — The North Penn School District has chosen its assistant superintendent to replace outgoing Superintendent Curtis R. Dietrich when the veteran administrator retires from the district later this month.
Todd Bauer was recently chosen by the North Penn Board of School Directors to replace Dietrich, who was the longest-serving superintendent in the district's history.
"Dr. Bauer has spent the last seven years devoted to the mission of the North Penn School District, its students, staff and community," Tina Stoll, board president, said in a statement. "From high school principal to assistant superintendent to now superintendent, his time helping to lead us before and after a pandemic has been transformational. We know he will take North Penn to remarkable new heights."

"I am truly honored to be selected as the next superintendent of the North Penn School District," Bauer said in a statement. "It is my pledge to this community that I will continue to work tirelessly to elevate NPSD to new heights as we prepare our students for success in and out of the classroom. I want to thank the Board of School Directors for their trust in choosing me and for the support I have received over the years from students, staff and community members."
Bauer says his 100-day entry plan includes soliciting stakeholder feedback to gain insights on the district's overall experience, develop a new three-year comprehensive plan, prioritize staffing in all areas of the district, begin building community engagement for the high school renovation project and enhance key partnerships.
The school board said that Bauer's appointment came after a months-long "extensive search" for someone to replace Dietrich, who has been superintendent since 2010.
The district contracted with consulting firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates to help with the search.
"As a board we reviewed and considered more than 25 applicants and interviewed six exceptional candidates including Dr. Bauer," Stoll, the board president, said in her statement. "Todd's vision for the future of NPSD, expertise, proven record and existing relationships made him the clear choice for the position, and the board is proud of the process that got us to this point."
According to the district, Bauer began working for the district back in 2015 when he got hired as the high school's principal. He was appointed assistant superintendent in 2018.
Bauer, who lives in the Harleysville area, previously worked for the Central Bucks and Souderton School Districts.
