Authorities Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting Friday In Montgomery County
Police in Hatfield Township shot a man on Friday morning after being dispatched to a call for a suspicious person armed with a knife.
HATFIELD, PA — Montgomery County authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Friday morning in Hatfield Township.
The District Attorney's Office said that county detectives are looking into the case of a man shot by officers around 7:30 Friday morning.
News reports said the incident occurred in the area of Orvilla Road and West Lane.

The DA's Office said that 911 dispatchers received a call reporting that a man was seen running through a resident's backyard before hiding in a neighboring yard.
Investigators said that officers initially instructed the man to come out and show his hands, and that when the suspect refused to comply, he was tazed by officers.

The DA's Office said that the suspect then ran toward the officers and was subsequently shot.
Officers said the man was armed with a knife at the time.
The suspect, who is 29 years old, was then transported to Grandview Hospital and is currently said to be undergoing surgery, according to prosecutors.
A current condition is unknown.
The DA's Office said the man's identity will not be released at this time.
