Grand View Hospital Welcomes Two New Surgeons
Expanding options in minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Michael Fishman adds experience in treatment of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Joseph Grisafi specializes in treating deadly vascular diseases.

WEST ROCKHILL - Vascular and general surgeon Dr. Joseph L. Grisafi, and general surgeon Dr. Michael K. Fishman, have joined the team of surgeons at Grand View Surgical Associates to expand Grand View Hospital’s offerings in minimally invasive procedures for general and vascular surgeries.
Some operations completed with open incisional techniques can often be performed with minimally invasive techniques to gain access to treatment areas. Because blood loss and pain from these smaller incisions is reduced, patients usually experience quicker recovery periods and fewer complications, which can shorten the length of hospital stays.
Grisafi brings to Grand View a capability in treating patients with diseases that affect blood flow in the veins and arteries. As a vascular surgeon, he is experienced in working on the tiniest blood vessels, offering a greater chance of saving limbs that may be affected by arterial disease caused by diabetes and other conditions that increase the risk of stroke, heart attack and blood clots. Specializing in comprehensive care for vascular risk factors, Grisafi is skilled in endovascular aneurysm repair and procedures to open blocked arteries as well as the treatment of ulcers and wounds resulting from diabetes complications.
Fishman specializes in diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract with a specific interest in minimally invasive treatment of the stomach, esophagus and diaphragm. He often utilizes precise micro-incisions to perform surgery on the colon, gallbladder, spleen and adrenal glands, and to repair hernias and ulcers. In patients experiencing gastric or esophageal disease, minimally invasive surgical techniques using laparoscopy or other methods that require minimal access through small incisions has proven to provide significant advantages including faster recovery, fewer complications and less risk from general anesthesia and blood loss.
Grisafi earned his medical degree at the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training in general surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Grisafi is board certified in general and vascular surgery.
Fishman is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, and completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
