Indian Creek Foundation Receives $100K In Grant Funding
Indian Creek Foundation, which helps those with special needs in Montgomery & Bucks Counties, received a $100K award to support its mission.
MONTGOMERY & BUCKS COUNTIES — An area organization that works with individuals who have special needs in these two southeastern Pennsylvania counties is the recipient of a new $100,000 grant award to help advance its continuing mission.
Indian Creek Foundation, which operates 23 residential care homes that serves hundreds of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Montgomery and Bucks Counties, will be getting the $100K funding award from the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement Fund, according to the office of State Rep. Steve Malagari, a Montgomery County Democrat who made the announcement Wednesday.
The PHARE fund was created to help deliver state and federal funds, as well as funding from other sources, to organizations who help create, rehabilitate and support affordable housing throughout the commonwealth.

"The availability of quality affordable housing is something that helps families and the economy grow and should be within reach for everyone in every community across the commonwealth," Malagari said in a statement. "These dollars will help hundreds of our neighbors who deal with extraordinary circumstances remain independent and homeowners."
Malagari stated that many individuals who are served by Indian Creek have mobility issues due to aging or physical conditions that significantly limit their ability to move freely throughout their homes for routine activities.

With the award funding, Indian Creek expects to renovate and repair six houses to help maintain the living conditions for those with disabilities who desire to maintain their residences, Malagari's office stated.
The Indian Creek Foundation, which was incorporated in 1975, has been serving Montgomery and Bucks County area children and adults with disabilities for more than four decades.
The foundation, which has a team of staff members and a board of directors, offers various residential services, recreational activities, employment services and other services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
