Injuries Reported Following Multi-Vehicle Crash In Montgomery County Tuesday

An operator of a motorcycle that was involved in the three-vehicle crash in Montgomery Township was reportedly airlifted to the hospital.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — Multiple people were injured Tuesday following a multi-vehicle accident in this central Montgomery County municipality, according to media reports and emergency alerts.

Emergency responders were called to a scene of a multi-vehicle accident just before 10 a.m. Tuesday for a reported vehicle crash, which involved two sedans and a motorcycle.

According to Montgomery County Incident Alerts, the call was listed as a major trauma, and initially involved at least one person who was reported to be unconscious following the collision.

The alert said that CPR was in progress by the time emergency responders arrived at the scene.

The website NorthPennNow reported that the driver of the motorcycle had to be transported by helicopter to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia for treatment of serious injuries.

The Montgomery Township Police Department posted on social media that the intersection of Horsham and Stump Roads, the site of the accident, was closed for hours while investigators combed the scene and tried to piece together how the crash occurred.

A cause has still not been released.

Various area agencies assisted at the scene, including fire police officers from Horsham Township, which Horsham officials said were out for hours Tuesday helping Montgomery Township police with traffic control at the accident scene.

The current condition of the motorcyclist is unknown.
