Man Raped 95-Year-Old Woman In Towamencin Nursing Home: Police

TOWAMENCIN, PA — A man snuck into a Montgomery County senior living community and raped a 95-year-old woman and resident of the facility, according to police and media reports.

The incident took place on May 14, 2025 at Dock Woods Senior Living, located half a mile off Forty Foot Road in Towamencin.

The elderly victim woke up to a man pacing around in her room in the middle of the night, NBC Philadelphia reports.

John Vernon Gray, 22, of Telford, told the woman he had seen her in the cafeteria earlier and that he thought she was beautiful, the report states. He then commenced to rape her, according to authorities.

Gray then begged the woman not to tell anyone, and left after about an hour, officials said.

Further investigation by police linked Gray to several other break-ins and attempted break-ins at the homes of elderly women, police said, continuing through November.

Gray was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
