U.S. Sen. Candidate John Fetterman Hosts Montco Meet-And-Greet Friday

HATFIELD, PA — John Fetterman, Pennsylvania's lieutenant governor who is seeking the Democratic nomination for United States Senate, is scheduled to host a meet-in-greet in this central Montgomery County community Friday evening.

Fetterman's campaign says that the candidate will drop by Imprint Beer Co. in Hatfield, Pa. between 5:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Friday, giving local folks a chance to learn about him and his candidacy.

"Join John Fetterman and the rest of the team in Montgomery County to show your support and learn how you can make a difference in this race!," reads a description of the event on Fetterman's campaign website.

Fetterman is slowly becoming a possible favorite in the Democratic race, as polls are now showing he appears to be ahead of his competitors.

Fetterman is a western Pennsylvania Democrat who formerly served as the mayor of Braddock, a small, very poor town located in Allegheny County.

He grew up in York County in south-central Pennsylvania before heading out to the Pittsburgh area, according to his online bio.

According to an issues section on his campaign website, Fetterman cares deeply about raising the minimum wage to at least $15 per hour, improving healthcare accessibility for Pennsylvanians, working to combat the effects of climate change, legalizing marijuana, supporting labor unions and ensuring that members of the LGBTQIA+ community receive equal protections under the law.

Fetterman has served as the commonwealth's lieutenant governor under Gov. Tom Wolf since the beginning of Wolf's second and current term in office.
