2 More Bucks Men Accused Of Sex With Boys

The arrests came one day after a school bus driver from Tullytown was charged with sexually abusing his own foster son as a teen.

TULLYTOWN, PA — Two more men from the Levittown area are facing charges after authorities say they had sex with boys. The charges on Wednesday come a day after another boy's former foster father — a longtime bus driver for two local school districts — was accused of repeatedly raping him and another teen.

David Charles Hoffman, 60, of Bristol Township, and Luis Charles Aiello, 57, of Penndel, are accused of sexually abusing the same boy, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub announced Wednesday afternoon.

District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said Wednesday that authorities believe all three men may have had other victims and called for them to come forward.

"We are making a call for more victims or witnesses of abuse and we can hopefully ensure these men get their just desserts and, potentially, never walk the streets again," Weintraub said at a news conference.

According to prosecutors, Hoffman began abusing his victim in 1995, when the boy was five years old, and the abuse continued until he was 17. The abuse happened primarily at the boy's home in Falls Township, Weintraub said.

Hoffman complained of chest pains during his arraignment on Wednesday and was taken to a hospital, where he remained in police custody.

Aiello is accused of abusing the same boy from 2008-2010, when the boy was 14. That abuse happened in Penndel and Falls, according to prosecutors. Weintraub said both Aiello and Hoffman were friends of the boy's family.

Aiello also is accused of sexually assaulting a second boy from 2008 to 2010 beginning when the victim was 14. The assaults happened frequently, typically at Aiello’s home, prosecutors said. They say he met the boy while working as a DJ at a wedding the boy attended.

Aiello was being held Wednesday on 10 percent of $900,000 bail.

Their arrests came one day after John Michael Evans, 40, of Tullytown, was arrested Tuesday on charges of rape, child pornography, sex trafficking of a minor and more, according to the DA's office.

He is accused of raping a boy who was his foster-child and another teen.

Evans abused the boys repeatedly between January 2017 and June 2020, prosecutors said. The more recent victim came forward this month to report the abuse to Tullytown Police, according to the DA's office.

The boy told police that Evans had begun sexually abusing him in April, shortly after the boy, who was then 16, was placed in Evans' care, according to a criminal complaint. He said Evans had abused him "too many times to count" and that Evans had nude photos of the teen and had arranged sex with other men that included the boy, according to the complaint.

Evans instructed the boy to tell the other men he was an adult if asked, the complaint says. It says he also told the boy about his abuse of a previous victim. He told him no one believed the other boy and that no one would believe him if he told anyone what was happening, according to police.

The first victim, who is now 17, reported in December that Evans had sexually abused him. But police say an investigation "did not uncover evidence sufficient to support criminal charges."

As a result of the new investigation, charges have now been filed in that case, Weintraub's office said.

Evans worked as a router for STA of Pennsylvania, a subcontractor hired by the Bristol Township School District, from June 2013 until he was suspended do to the charges against him, according to district officials.

"No infractions were reported in clearances that were completed prior to his employment and the district had no reports of improper conduct with students while he was there," said Superintendent Melanie Gehrens.

Evans worked for the Pennsbury School District from Jan. 17, 2001 through May 10, 2013, according to a spokeswoman. No infractions were reported in clearances that were completed prior to his hiring and the district had no reports of improper conduct with students while he was there, she said.
