$40K Grant Coming To Bristol Twp. Fire Company

BRISTOL / BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —An area fire company has received a grant for rescue tools while a new emergency management coordinator has been appointed in Bristol Borough.

The Third District Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $40,000 grant. This grant was awarded through the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority and will fund the purchase of rescue tools.

Third District would like to thank the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority and Bristol Township Council for their support in obtaining this grant.

A special thanks to former State Sen. Tommy Tomlinson, who introduced the grant program in 2008.

Third District Fire Company has provided fire service to Bristol Township since 1955.

Meanwhile, in Bristol Borough, a new emergency management director has been appointed.

Former Bristol Consolidated Fire Chief AJ DeAngelis served as a member of Station 50 for over 20 years, was chief in 2020-2021, and also serves as BBFD Chief 502.

The Bristol Consolidated Fire Department also congratulated Past Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal Merle Winslow on his retirement as Bristol Borough's emergency manager.

Winslow was active with Station 50 for over 60 years, with over 20 years as emergency manager.
