Bristol Police Call Out Fake Online Posts
The phony social media posts describe an attack that didn't happen in an effort to incite violence, police said Tuesday.
BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — Police in Bristol Borough are calling out fake social media posts they say are spreading false information to incite violence.
In a post Tuesday evening, Bristol police said multiple online platforms are being used to spread the fake posts. One recent one, they said, falsely reports a woman in an nursing uniform being beaten by four men at a convenience store in Bristol.
"This is a FALSE report," police said in the post.
