FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A Falls Township police officer who crashed chasing a motorcycle rider has returned home after more than a week in the hospital.

Officer Jerry Rhodunda was hurt during a chase on Saturday, Aug. 22. Police say officers were chasing a motorcycle that was being driven recklessly near a residential area.

On Wednesday, the department said "welcome home" to Rhodunda. They also announced that a $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the motorcycle rider who was being chased.

"Thank you to everyone who has offered their well wishes and prayers," the department said in a social media post.

Police are describing the motorcycle they were chasing as a royal blue sports bike.
