LANGHORNE, PA — Police are seeking a man from Langhorne on weapons charges after failing to capture him at his home during a major operation on Friday.

Police say Jason Ottinger, 47, was speeding on Newtown Bypass at about 10 p.m. on Thursday. Newtown Township Police conducted a traffic stop and followed him until his black, Ford pickup stopped on Parkview Way.

Police say Ottinger refused to cooperate and that an officer spotted a weapon in his truck and ordered him to get out. Instead, they say, Ottinger drove away. Police chased him through the Tyler Walk development and back onto the bypass, where they then stopped for safety reasons.

A warrant for Ottinger's arrest was issued on multiple charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, fleeing police, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

On Friday, Newtown Police were called to a report of a weapon being found in the Tyler Walk development, but say it was not the same weapon seen in the truck. They're continuing to investigate whether the weapon they found is related.

Also Friday, police, including the South Central Emergency Response Team's SWAT unit, tried to serve an arrest warrant at Ottinger's home on Maple Avenue in Langhorne.

Ottinger was not found during the action Friday afternoon, which caused police to shut down Maple Avenue in the area.
