Verdict Expected Friday In Bucks Co. Beheading Trial

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A verdict is expected Friday morning in the trial of a Bucks County man accused of killing and beheading his father at their Middletown Township home and posting it on YouTube.

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office said the verdict will be announced Friday morning in the case of the Commonwealth v. Justin Mohn. A hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 410, on the fourth floor of the Bucks County Justice Center.

Closing arguments took place on Thursday.

Mohn, 32, of Middletown Township, is charged with killing his father Michael F. Mohn in January 2024 and posting a disturbing YouTube video holding his father’s decapitated head and calling for violent attacks against members of the federal government.

Mohn took the stand in his own defense at the trial on Wednesday.

Following the verdict and sentencing, Bucks District Attorney Jennifer Schorn, will be joined by First Assistant District Attorney Ed Louka, Deputy District Attorney Ashley Towhey and Deputy District Attorney Christine Sassane, the prosecutors in this case, and detectives with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Middletown Township Police Department to discuss the case.

The YouTube was shown at the trial, which began on Monday.
