1 Dead After DUI Road Rage Crash On 422: State Police
The fatal Sunday crash on 422 was caused by road rage and involved a drunk driver, authorities said.

LIMERICK, PA β One person was killed in a crash involving a drunk driver and road rage Route 422 Sunday evening in Limerick, officials said.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. near the 177.2 mile marker in the eastbound lanes.
The road rage began several miles before crash scene earlier on 422 between a black Volvo SUV and a Chevrolet Cruze, officials said. The driver of the Cruze was drunk, police said they later determined.

The Volvo driver swung into the right lane and brake checked the Cruze, causing it to slam into the the back of the Volvo, according to state police.
Due to the collision, the Volvo lost control and drove off the side of the road, slamming into a tree, officials said.

EMS first responders and firefighters found the driver of the Volvo stuck inside when they arrived, and they had to extricate him.
He was taken to Pottstown Hospital with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police arrested the driver of the Cruze on charges of DUI.
"The possibility of additional charges is being determined as further investigation is being conducted," state police said.
Crash reconstruction experts are working on the case.
U.S. 422 was shut down for more than two hours as the scene was cleared.
