5 Nonprofits To Get Behind In The Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Area

There are many opportunities to volunteer in the community or donate food, clothing and other items.

LIMERICK-ROYERSFORD-SPRING CITYโ€” Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the Spring-Ford area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.

Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the YOUR PATCH area:

1. Spring-Ford Project Outreach: The non-profit was organized in 1983 to feed those in need. Project Outreach has weekly food distributions in Royersford and Spring City. With the help of local churches, Project-Outreach operates food pantries. The office and a food pantry are at Bard Community Center, 410 Washington St., Royersford. A second food pantry is at First United Church of Christ, 145 Church St. The nonprofit helps anyone who lives in Royersford, Spring City, Parker Ford, Limerick and Trappe. 2. Spring-Valley YMCA: 19 W. Linfield Trappe Road, Limerick, Pa 19468, 484โ€“2000. The Y has babysitting, personal training, several pools, special needs programs, pickleball, swim team, outdoor track and more.

3. Juliaโ€™s Grace Foundation: Julia Grace Eveland passed away from cancer in September 2013. In celebration of her life, Juliaโ€™s Foundation was established to keep her spirit alive. 4. Limerick Fire Company: 390 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick 610-489-2222. Limerick fire company is looking for volunteers. Firefighting is great on resumes for college and jobs and d gives every member a sense of satisfaction. The fire company is also looking for volunteers for administrative work. The fire company provides free training in an array of emergency services. Application information is available here.

5. Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy: 1072 St. Matthews Road, Chester Springs, Pa. 610-827-0931. The nonprofit was founded in 1997 to provide therapeutic horseback riding to make life a little easier for those facing challenges. The riders learn they are non as limited by their disabilities as they once thought. The nonprofit is hosting a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Montgomery School, 1141 Kimberton Road, Chester Springs, 610827-0931.
