LIMERICK, PA —The wife of accused killer Blair Watts told a Montgomery County jury that her husband had a key to the Limerick home of murder victim Jennifer Brown, according to reports from Media News Group.

Tyerra Taylor testified for the prosecution in the first-degree murder trial of Watts, who is accused of the Jan. 3 murder of Brown, 43, a mother of two.

The following day, Jan. 4, Watts reported to police that Brown failed to pick up her son at the bus stop and was missing.

His wife told the panel this week that she found out about the key when she went with her husband to Brown’s house on Jan. 4.

Taylor said Watts and Brown were friends and were planning to open a restaurant in Spring City.

Bank records show that Watts transferred $17,000 from Brown’s account on the day she was reported missing to his own and phone records put him at the scene of the slaying, according to police.

The prosecution presented evidence that a state police K-9 dog detected Brown’s remains in Brown’s home and Watts’ vehicles.

“I’m upset because my husband is not the kind of man that seems to be portrayed,” Waatt's wife said under cross-examination by Watts’ attorney, Michael Coard.

Brown's body was found by a passerby two weeks later on Jan. 18 buried behind a warehouse in the 200 block of North Fifth Avenue in Royersford.

Testimony is scheduled to resume on Monday.
