Black Rock Road To Be Shut Down For Months In Upper Providence
A bridge that needs to be replaced is celebrating is 100th birthday this year.

UPPER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, PA β Construction on the Black Rock Road bridge in Upper Providence Township will begin in May, leading to a closure for most of the rest of the year.
Black Rock Road will be shut down between Upper Indian Head Road and Ashenfelter Road from May 12 through Dec. 1.
Drivers will be detoured to Egypt Road and Route 29 during the work.

The two-lane, single span bridge over Crossmans Run was built in 1925. It carries about 7,796 vehicles per day, according to PennDOT statistics.
Additional traffic should be expected throughout the area.
