Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Limerick, Upper Providence, Royersford

The drinking water problem in the three municipalities has been corrected, according to Pennsylvania American Water officials.

ROYERSFORD, PA β€”The drinking water problem in Royersford, and portions of Upper Providence and Limerick townships has been lifted, officials said Monday.

On Jan. 18, Pennsylvania American Water asked customers not to drink water without boiling it first due to the water system losing its chlorine feed for about 15 minutes.

The order affected 9,900 customers.

Subsequently, accepted water testing results were obtained by Pennsylvania American Water and the state Department of Environmental Protection authorized lifting the advisory.
According to Pennsylvania American Water, inadequately treated water may contain disease, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites, which can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches.
