Valley Forge Baptist joins other Churches in Helping Community

by Pastor Scott Wendal senior pastor at Valley Forge Baptist Church

Church leaders in our area are mobilizing members to step up to the plate to help our community during the crisis. For instance, Valley Forge Baptist Temple in Collegeville (valleyforgebaptist.org) has organized members to help in the following ways to reach out to our community:

Preparing and distributing 60 boxed meals through Chosen 300’s ministry each month to help the needy in Pottstown.

Church ladies partnering with Mimi’s Masks in Skippack to help make 5,000 masks in two weeks.

Providing pizza for all of the staff at Parkhouse Rehabilitation Center and other local nursing homes and rehabs.

Offering Free Counseling to medical staffs by certified counselors from the Valley Forge Biblical Counseling Center.

These are just some of the ways churches are helping others during the stay-at-home order. Pastor Scott Wendal says, “I am thrilled that pastors and church leaders are contacting doctors, nurses, therapists, nursing home and rehab workers that attend their church and then mobilizing them to support our front line medical and other essential staff. It’s as easy as dropping off baked goods at the door step of the nurse or coordinating a purchased meal through medical workers.”
