Limerick Fire Company will host meetings and classroom trainings for conference attendees Wednesday through Friday at locations in the Township. Events are planned in the evening during the week at local restaurants, firehouses, and elsewhere for attendees to view new fire apparatus and equipment, the Company's announcement said.

"The convention concludes with a large parade on Saturday at noon and we are expecting over 200 pieces of apparatus, several marching units, and hopefully the World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales," the Company said.

The parade will begin at Royersford Road and proceed West on Ridge Pike to Swamp Pike and then to Ziegler Road and conclude at the Limerick Community Park, the Department explained.

Vendors and refreshments will be available at the park following the parade and awards will be announced two hours after the parade concludes. The parade is rain or shine. The public is invited to line the parade route and see more than 200 fire engines.

Limerick Fire Department Outstanding In PA

In August the Limerick Township Board of Supervisors presented Limerick Fire Department with two awards from the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner Office. Tracie Young-Brungard, Certification Program Manager, presented the Voluntary Training Recognition Gold Certificate, acknowledging that 100 percent of the Department's firefighters are trained to the State Fire Fighter I level. She also presented the Voluntary Rescue Service Recognition for Vehicle and Machinery Rescue level.

Young-Brungard said that Limerick Fire Department is one of two fire departments in the Commonwealth that have earned and maintained the Gold Level training certification for nine consecutive years. The Limerick Fire Department also has the largest roster for this voluntary certification. Accepting the awards were Chief Ken Shuler and President Tom Walters. A commendation letter was also presented on behalf of Senator Katie Muth for the Fire Department's achievements.

Limerick Fire Department said it will follow all CDC guidelines for social distancing and masks for the safety of parade participants and public attendees.
