Jan Jackowski Christman, A 'Driving Force' In Royersford, Dies
"Her love and commitment to all things Royersford made her a shining example of what each of us should strive to be in our community."

ROYERSFORD, PA โ A longtime Royersford woman, business owner, and "driving force" in the redevelopment of the area has died.
Jan Jackowski Christman, owner of Christman Jewelers on Main Street, was 62.
In addition to being a mainstay downtown, Jan helped found Community Day, and was a key part of putting Royersford on the path to where it has wound up today, according to Annamarie Hewitt Chestnut, the president of the Royersford Business Association.

"Her love and commitment to all things Royersford made her a shining example of what each of us should strive to be in our community," Chestnut wrote. "We have lost a great friend and will never forget all of her sacrifices and hard work on behalf of our community. The Main Street memories of Jan and our time together will live on and always make me proud to be involved. I was lucky to have her..... and so was Rofo."
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Sept. 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Her funeral is set for Friday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at Royersford United Methodist Church.

According to her obituary, Jan's family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to a scholarship in her name for field hockey players at Spring-Ford.
