Katie Caras to play Lacrosse for Palm Beach Atlantic

Valley Forge Baptist's four sport scholar athlete to play lacrosse in Florida

Katie Caras ’19 is a four sport athlete and has earned a lacrosse scholarship to Palm Beach Atlantic University. She attended Valley Forge Baptist Academy and was was a three sport captain and an all league player in volleyball, basketball and soccer. However her true passion is lacrosse. She plays for the Dynamite Club team out of Collegeville. Her mother, Kelly Grim Caras, was a three time All American and National Champion at Temple University as well as a member of the US National team.

Palm Beach Atlantic University is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. They play in the Sunshine Conference. Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Jayson Schmidt stated “we are so thrilled to welcome Katie into our Sailfish family. She has a phenomenal lacrosse pedigree and will work hard for us on the defensive end. We have sky-high expectations for how she will compete in our program and more than anything, she’s an amazing person that will fit right into what we are building.”

Off the field Katie is a 4.0+ student, plays the piano, and was the Vice President of her school. She is a faithful member of Valley Forge Baptist and has volunteered for various ministries within the church. She recently went on a missions trip to Nicaragua. Katie will be majoring in Nursing and would like to obtain her masters degree as a Physician Assistant. Her well rounded interests and talents will provide a recipe for success as she takes her skills to the college level.
