Lewis Road Upgrades In Limerick Ongoing Throughout Summer

LIMERICK, PA β€”The long-awaited improvement project on Lewis Road in Limerick Township is taking shape.

An estimated 4,050 linear feet of sidewalk, concrete curbing, crosswalks, and American Disability Act ramps from South Limerick Road to the Spring-Ford Area High School have been installed.

The $1.5 million project also includes the installation of stormwater control measures.

The work on the Lewis Road project will continue through September, with the anticipation of PennDOT repaving Lewis Road in early fall, according to township officials.

The township thanked neighboring Royersford and Upper Providence Township for their support.

The township also expressed appreciation to State Rep. Joe Ciresi, a Montgomery County Democrat, for securing $320,000 and $670,000 in state recreation grants.

The proposed improvements will enhance the safety of both pedestrians and motorists along the Lewis Road corridor.
