A Surge in Bible Sales

Premier Christian News reported, “Gen Z are once again proving that they are a generation open to faith, as Bible sales soar among their demographic. The Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK) has noted an 87% increase in purchases of the Bible between 2019 and 2024.”

According to CBN, “44% of Gen Z adults between the ages of 18-26 were either very or extremely curious about Jesus and/or the Bible. And nearly half of Gen Z said the Bible has transformed their lives.”

A spike in Bible sales was also reported by Fortune in December of 2024.

The Wall Street Journal noted that as of December 2024, Bible sales were booming with a 22% increase in sales due to people's increased anxiety and a desire for greater hope.

About the Author: Melissa McLaughlin is a writer, teacher, and speaker. She loves encouraging others through her faith and words. Having retired from her 28-year career as a public school teacher, she now writes and speaks about her passion, Jesus Christ.

Melissa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education and a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist. In addition, she earned a Certificate in Foundations of Biblical Studies. Melissa co-hosts Bible studies, prayer groups, and Writer’s Workshops at her local church.
