Longtime Royersford Choral Director, Chemist, Dies At 94

ROYERSFORD, PA — Robert H. Kichline, 94, husband of the late Georgianna E. (Ressler) Kichline, of Royersford, was promoted to glory on June 12, 2018 in his residence. Born on January 15, 1924 in Allentown, he was a son of the late and Sarah Jane (Keiser) and Edwin T. Kichline.

Bob was a graduate of Allentown High School and Muhlenburg College. He had been employed as a chemist for Firestone, in Pottstown, for 34 years. In his retirement, he tuned pianos for many years.

Bob had a great love for music. He was the pianist/organist at Royersford Church of the Nazarene for many years. He formed and directed the Firestone Male Chorus and directed and sang in other Church choirs. He was a charter member of the Ches-Mont Jubilaires Barbershop Chorus and sang in two barbershop quartets, known as the Tri-County Harmonaires and the Silver Chordsmen. Bob loved the Lord, his family, his Church, music, traveling in his camper and was loved by all.

Bob is survived by two daughters: Jane Kichline, of Royersford and Kathleen, wife of Irving Pritchett, of Hanover, MD; three sons: Robert D., husband of Lynda Kichline, of Royersford, William J., husband of Nancy Kichline, of Douglassville and Timothy J. Kichline, of Milroy; five grandchildren: Jonathan Kichline, fiance of Maryanne Rightler, Chris Kichline, Jeffrey, husband of Debbie Kichline, Deven, wife of Chad Roucroft and Rebecca Pritchett; seven great-grandchildren: Jordan Kichline, Colin Kichline, Eric Kichline, Molly Kichline, Alex Kichline, Dylan Roucroft and Taylor Roucroft; two step-great-grandchildren: Sarah Rightler and Noah Rightler; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother: Edwin J. Kichline.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Royersford Church of the Nazarene, 445 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul W. Thornhill. Interment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the Church.
