Montco Lawmaker Hails Childcare Tax Credit Law
The new law provides an increase in tax credits to working families and employers.
LIMERICK, PAโMontgomery County lawmaker Tracy Pennycuick praised a new law that expands tax credits to help working families and employers.
The new law signed by Governor Josh Shapiro on Dec. 13, expands the tax credit to support both working families and employers.
Under the law, a family with two kids in childcare who previously received $630 will now be eligible to receive $2100.

โChildcare not only affects families, it affects our economy as well,โ Sen. Tracy Pennycuick, a Montgomery County Republican, said.
โThe number one issue I hear from businesses is finding employees, and childcare is a critical hurdle that prevents many from entering or staying in the workforce.

"By making high-quality child care more affordable for families, hardworking Pennsylvanians wonโt have to choose between their employment and their children.
