LIMERICK, PA — A Montgomery County man will be heading to state prison for up to a decade after he pleaded guilty to child rape, according to media reports and court records.

Zachary Hunter Daniels, 22, of Limerick Township, was given a state prison sentence of 5 to 10 years in connection with his May 2 guilty to plea to felony charges of child rape and indecent assault without consent.

Court records show that Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas C. Branca imposed sentence immediately after Daniels entered the two guilty pleas.

Branca also imposed other conditions, such as a requirement that Daniels comply with Megan's Law sex offender registration for 15 years and that he has no contact with the victim in the case.

According to a report in the Mercury newspaper, the investigation into Daniels, then 19 years old, began in May 2020 when police received a report about a sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl that had occurred during a house party in Lower Pottsgrove Township in the fall of 2019.

The victim reported to police that Daniels' actions were "unwanted and not consensual," the Mercury reported, citing the contents of a police criminal complaint.
