Re-Match in the 146th State House Seat for Ciresi

Ciresi wants to prioritize our public schools, provide property tax relief, & restore passenger train service between Pottstown and Philly

Joe Ciresi, a resident of Limerick with his wife, Pam, and 19-year-old son, Danny, is running for State Representative of the 146th District as the Democratic candidate.

Ciresi has been a community leader and problem solver in the Spring-Ford area for over a decade. He is running to prioritize our public schools, provide property tax relief, and restore passenger train service between Pottstown and Philadelphia, in order to alleviate hour long traffic Commuter delays.

He served as a Spring-Ford Area School Board director for 12 years, including serving as the Board's President & Vice President multiple times. During that time, he helped move Spring-Ford into the top 2 percent of Pennsylvania school districts, while reducing debt by $125 million, keeping taxes low, and most importantly, providing an outstanding education to students. In Harrisburg, Ciresi will fight to bring more state money to our schools and improve outcomes for our students.

As a homeowner, he understands the burden that high property taxes place on homeowners, families, and seniors. Ciresi will work to bring meaningful relief to property owners with a fair funding formula for education.

The continued revitalization of our community’s town centers -- Royersford, Pottstown and Trappe -- is at the heart of his advocacy for restoring passenger train service along the Route 422 corridor. With traffic congestion getting worse every day, Ciresi is committed to restoring service between Pottstown and Philadelphia without the use of tolls. Rail service will take thousands of cars off our highways and provide a regional link to revitalize our boroughs and boost our local economy, while reducing air pollution.

In addition to his school board experience, Ciresi also led the charge as board president for Petra Community Housing, which builds affordable housing for seniors and the disabled. This non-profit organization, based in Spring City, helped successfully open the Freedom House in Royersford, as well as the Flag House and Bard Complex in Spring City. In his professional life, Ciresi has worked as the Director of Sales and Promotions at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for 16 years.

The 146th District includes the boroughs of Trappe, Royersford and part of Pottstown, as well as Limerick, Lower Pottsgrove and Perkiomen townships.
