Royersford Man, 96, World War II Vet With 'Generous Heart,' Dies
Nicholas Frank Corea, 96, of Royersford, "had a generous heart, always trying to donate and help the poor and needy," his obituary reads.

ROYERSFORD, PA β Nicholas Frank Corea, age 96, husband of the late Rose M. Corea, of Royersford, PA, formerly of Clifton Heights, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the Phoenixville Hospital - Tower Health. Born on May 15, 1921 in Kearny, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Francesca (Russo) Corio.
Mr. Corea served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and worked as a Pipe Fitter for the Philadelphia Naval Yard. He was an active member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford, and the Phoenixville Senior Center. Mr. Corea had a generous heart, always trying to donate and help the poor and needy.

Mr. Corea is survived by two children, Greg Corea of Mesa, AZ and Barbara B., wife of Ed Battista of Royersford, PA; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorraine Cola, one brother, and one sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, Pennsylvania Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Tadeusz Gorka. Burial will be held in the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 64, Royersford, PA 19468.
