UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA β€” Additional delays are expected Thursday on Route 29 in Upper Providence as a number of traffic signals may be non-functioning, officials said.

The lights must undergo mandatory software updates and routine maintenance, and they could be off altogether or blink red or yellow.

The work is expected to continue from 8:30 a.m. to noon and will impact Route 29 from Rivercrest Drive to Perkiomen Boulevard.

Upper Providence police officers will be on hand to direct traffic while the work is underway.

Drivers are urged to slow down and follow directions of the officers. If no officers are present, treat a blinking or fully off traffic signal as a stop sign.
