Fire Hits Farm Animal Sanctuary In Montgomery County

"We don't know who made it out," owners said.

WORCESTER, PA β€” A barn fire ripped through an animal sanctuary farm in the early hours Wednesday morning, and several animals are missing.

The incident began at around 3:20 a.m. on Weber Road at a barn on the property of the House of Wiggle Goats, a goat and farm animal rescue and sanctuary.

It's not yet known how the fire started.

Skippack Fire Company used a fire hydrant and portable water tanks to attack the fire. A total of 38 tanker loads were used in the effort, officials said.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control within a few hours. Firefighters remained on scene until around 7 a.m.

"We don’t know who made it out," owners Erin Beth and Michael Wiggle shared. "It is still a very active scene. Massive, thank you to all the fire departments who have responded. The person that called it in from the turnpike Our neighbors who have allowed us to cry on their shoulders."

Owners said they are still looking for missing animals and asked individuals in the area to keep an eye out for goats.
