Fundraiser For Slain SEPTA Train Conductor At Montco Tavern
Daniel Ruley, 37, who worked as a conductor for SEPTA's regional rail system, was killed outside of his Northwest Philly home in September.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA β A local restaurant in this Montgomery County community will be hosting a fundraiser and celebration of life event for a mass transit worker who was senselessly gunned down in front of his Philadelphia home in early September.
The KOP Grill & Tavern in King of Prussia announced that it is hosting the benefit in honor of the late Daniel Ruley on Oct. 23 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Ruley was killed on Sept. 11 at around 12:30 a.m. on the 100 block of Washington Lane in the city's Germantown section.

While police said the killing might have been a targeted act of violence some family members of the victim have reportedly called the homicide a case of mistaken identity.
"He was a very kind, caring man," reads a description on a GoFundMe fundraiser for Ruley, who was 37 years old at the time of his death. "Daniel was loved by all and will truly be missed beyond words."

Ruley was the father of seven children, and proceeds raised from the fundraiser are going to benefit surviving family members.
So far, about $22,000 had been raised out of a stated goal of $30,000.
Ruley was a 13-year-employee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority who worked for SEPTA's Railroad Division.
