Investigation Continues After Fatal Crash On Route 422
A tractor-trailer swung across the median and hit another vehicle head-on last week.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA β An investigation is ongoing after a head-on crash on Route 422 last week left one person dead.
The incident occurred on Friday morning shortly after 6 a.m. near the Trooper/Audubon exit.
A tractor-trailer crossed from the westbound lanes and over the median and slammed head-on into another vehicle heading east, Pennsylvania State Police said.

That vehicle overturned and landed on the nearby bike trail, the Lower Providence Fire Department said.
The driver of the vehicle that was hit was declared dead.

The crash left "significant debris and fluids on the roadway," officials said, and the road was shut down for hours as crews worked to clear the scene.
