Large Fire Battled In Collegeville
Authorities urged residents and drivers to avoid the area.

COLLEGEVILLE, PA β Crews battled a large fire at a home in Collegeville Tuesday afternoon, a thick smoke soaring into the air was visible for miles around.
The incident began on 409 E. Main Street, near the intersection with 4th Avenue, at around 12:30 p.m.
The cause of the blaze is not yet clear.

Flames were seen coming steadily out of the roof and the top floor of the multi-story home in several videos from the scene.
Authorities urged residents and drivers to avoid the area.

"Members of the Collegeville Fire Company and neighboring Companies are operating at a building fire in the area of 4th Ave and Main Street," the department said in a statement. "Please avoid the area if possible as apparatus traffic will be moving through the Borough."
Multiple crews from around the area are on the scene.
