Lower Providence Township Police 'Rock Their Socks' For Down Syndrome Awareness
Members of the Lower Providence Police Department wore funky socks Monday to raise awareness of Down Syndrome on World Down Syndrome Day.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA β Police in this central Montgomery County community wore funky socks to work on Monday in support of Down Syndrome Awareness.
The department announced that it chose Monday as the day to don crazy socks since that date was recognized as World Down Syndrome Day, and because one of the officers in the department, Pat Young, has a young daughter, Olivia, who has Down Syndrome.
"The idea behind rocking crazy socks is that even though they may look different, they still serve the same purpose," the department posted in a Facebook message.
