Vehicle Thefts Continue To Plague Lower Providence
Thefts have not dissipated with the end of the holiday season, authorities said.
LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA β Lower Providence Township and surrounding communities are still seeing rashes of thefts from vehicles as well as thefts of vehicles, police said Wednesday.
While an increase in such thefts is typical around the holiday season when many leave valuables like presents inside their vehicles, the incidents have continued on into the New Year.
Police said thefts have occurred across the township.

Multiple departments across Montgomery County also warned on Wednesday of an increase in "puffer" thefts, or vehicles being stolen that are left running by owners to warm up. The "puff" of smoke from the rear exhaust can serve as a signal to thieves that the vehicle is unattended, police said.
