Dog Attack Leads to Citation for Owner, Police Say

An English bull terrier got loose from its home in Feasterville and bit a German Shephard in Trevose Thursday morning.

A Feasterville man was cited by Lower Southampton police on Thursday after his dog, an English bull terrier, got loose from the yard and bit a German Shephard while wandering the neighborhood, according to reports.

Police said the dog, which wore neither a collar or tags, was in the neighborhood of Avenue A in Trevose when it charged at a German Shephard and clamped down on its head. The owner struck the terrier with a piece of wood until it let go, police said. When officers arrived, the stray dog was being coralled by neighbors on Front Street, police said.

The owner of the dog, Anthony Santiago, claimed the dog later that day at Town and Country Kennels. The police department is mailing a citation for dogs running at large. He had been cited previously for untagged dogs getting loose in the neighborhood, police report.
