Snow Emergency Declared In Lower Southampton

Lower Southampton's police chief said the snow emergency begins Friday afternoon in the wake of the storm.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The township's police chief has declared a snow emergency in the wake of Friday's storm.

Police Chief John T. Krimmel Jr. said the snow emergency is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. on Saturday.

During the snow emergency, it will be unlawful at any time for anyone to park a motor vehicle or to allow that vehicle to remain anywhere on any designated snow emergency route (any township street).

Failure to remove vehicles may result in fines and or towing of vehicles.

The Snow Emergency may be shortened, extended or otherwise modified depending on conditions.

Police ask residents to remove vehicles off the street so the township's road crew and PennDOT can effectively plow streets.

Police also said that a snow emergency doesn't mean that people can ride their ATVs and snowmobiles in the street.
