Lifesaving Efforts Recognized in Lower Southampton
Township board of supervisors thanked the firefighters and EMTs for their dedication to the volunteer services.
When a house on the 100 block of Orchard Lane caught fire last Christmas, three members of the Trevose Fire Co. were called to work their way past the thick smoke and rescue an elderly man trapped on the second floor.
Because of their successful efforts to carry the resident out of the house and into safety, firefighters Brian Armstrong, Chris Doster and Tim Doster were awarded lifesaving medals by Lower Southampton Fire Marshal William Oettinger at Wednesday evening's board of supervisors meeting.
Presentations were also made to two other groups of first responders for their performance during life-threatening incidents last year.
