Police Interrupt Attempted Motorcycle Theft
An off-duty Northampton officer confronted the thief late Sunday night, who dropped the bike and ran off toward the nearby 7-Eleven.

An attempt to steal a motorcycle late Sunday night from Bromley Motorcycle Sales was disrupted when an off-duty Northampton police officer confronted the thief.
According to a report prepared by the Lower Southampton Police Department, Officer John Herman saw the thief straddling a motorcycle and walking it down Magee Street at approximately 1 a.m. Monday morning. When asked about the motorcycle, the suspect dropped the bike and ran toward the 7-Eleven at Brownsville and Bristol roads.
Lower Southampton officers investigated Bromley's and found that the glass front door had been smashed. The bike, valued at $3,000, was returned to the store. The attempted thief has not been located.
