100s Of Donations Made Via DCIU & DCTS Gives Thanksgiving Food Drive

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — In the spirit of giving, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and Delaware County Technical Schools launched an annual Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive to support Delaware County families in need during the holiday season.

Delaware County Technical School (DCTS) students and Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) staff teamed up to hold the first annual “DCIU and DCTS Gives” Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive.

Delaware County Technical School (DCTS) students from both the Aston and Folcroft campuses and staff from the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) Education Service Center in Morton held their weekend long the first annual “DCIU and DCTS Gives” Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive.

Hundreds of non-perishable food donations were collected by students and staff and hand-delivered to the Delaware County Food Bank in Media Tuesday.

Students and staff were proud to participate, ensuring that more families in Delaware County can enjoy nourishing meals this Thanksgiving and holiday season.

"The holidays are a time for togetherness and gratitude," Dr. Maria Edelberg, Executive Director of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit said. "I am proud of the commitment of our DCTS students and DCIU team for their generosity in giving back to our community and we hope our contributions bring a little extra joy to families this Thanksgiving."
