4 Hospitalized After Red Light Crash In Marple: PSP

Pennsylvania State Police said a Honda CRV drove through a red light and hit a Toyota RAV4 with a man, 71, and woman, 75, inside it.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A late July crash in Marple Township led to four people, including three senior citizens, to hospitals, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash happened at about 12:25 p.m. July 25 on the off-ramp from northbound Baltimore Pike to Interstate 476 in Marple.

Police said a 2011 Honda CRV being driven by a 28-year-old Broomall woman, with a 67-year-old Bryn Mawr woman in the passenger seat, drove through a red light at that time and location.

The Honda struck a Toyota RAV4 that was being driven by a 71-year-old man with a 75-year-old woman in the passenger seat.

All four people involved were wearing seatbelts, police said.

The Honda's driver and passenger were taken to Lankenau Medical Center, while the man and woman in the Toyota were taken to Riddle Hospital.

Details on their injuries were not shared by state police.
