All 6 Key COVID Metrics Trending Downward In Delaware County

Hospitalizations saw a drop of about 22 percent, with the average number of daily hospitalized patients going from 266.9 to 206.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The coronavirus appears to be waning a bit in Delaware County, according to the latest data from the state.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health's most recent update on coronavirus metrics show all six areas measured saw decreases in Delaware County over the past seven days.

Since last Friday, the number of newly reported cases saw a more than 41 percent drop, as did the incidence rate per 100,000 people.

New cases went down from 4,057 to 2,369. The incidence rate per 100,000 people went down from 715.8 to 418.

Hospitalizations saw a drop of about 22 percent, with the average number of daily hospitalized patients going from 266.9 to 206.

Average daily hospitalized patients on ventilators went from 25.3 to 23.4.

The county's positivity rate decreased from 28.1 to 20.2.

Lastly, the percent of people showing up to hospital emergency rooms with coronavirus-like illnesses decreased from 1.1 to 0.8 percent.

To date, Delaware County has had 92,774 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 1,747 coronavirus deaths.

Regarding vaccines, 345,625 people in Delaware County have been fully vaccinated as of Friday, state data shows. Of those people, 145,012 have received a third dose since Aug. 13, 2021. And 83,833 people in the county are partially vaccinated
