Broomall Rotary Faces AIDS

Five college students recently introduced the Broomall Rotary with the organization Face AIDS.

BROOMALL–Five college students, representing Face AIDS, recently addressed the Broomall Rotary Club. Face AIDS is a global organization with over 200 student chapters whose mission is to increase HIV awareness and education to help control this worldwide
epidemic.

"Only by facing AIDS can we understand it and work to overcoming its
stigma, prevent its spread and helping those in need," remarked one of the representatives.

The students, from all over the country, began their trek in June. In all, they will bicycle over 4,000 miles, from Half Moon Bay, CA, to Boston, MA. En route, they meet with local media and organizations such as the Rotary to tell their message and request donations.

So far, they have garnered over $25,000 on their journey. Since they cannot use major highways, they are able to see and meet more people in hometowns across America. Most of the students are not avid bikers.
