COVID Hospitalizations Up, Cases Down In Delaware County: Latest Data
Two of the six key coronavirus metrics increased over the past week in Delaware County, while four others went down or remained the same.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The latest data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows while coronavirus cases are down, hospitalizations and ventilator use are up over the past week.
According to the most recent data, two of the six metrics decreased and two others remained the same, while hospitalizations and ventilator use went up from July 13 to July 20.
Average daily coronavirus hospitalizations increased from 30 to 35.7.

With increased hospitalizations comes increased ventilator use: average daily COVID patients on ventilators increased from 1.4 to 1.9.
Newly reported confirmed cases dropped from 768 to 720.

The incidence rate per 100,000 people also dropped from 135.5 to 127.
Delaware County's positive PCR testing rate stayed the same at 14 percent.
The percent of hospital emergency room visits due to COVID-like illnesses remained at 1 percent.
State data shows 106,076 confirmed cases in Delaware County to date. The county has seen 1,907 coronavirus-related deaths.
The latest data also shows 409,939 people in the county are fully vaccinated. Of those, 194,137 have received a booster shot and 35,299 have received a second booster shot.
