COVID Hospitalizations, New Cases Dropping In Delaware County
Delaware County is continuing to see declines in new coronavirus cases, hospitalizations, ventilator use, and more. See the new data here.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The latest data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows Delaware County is continuing to see a decrease in all coronavirus metrics.
All six key coronavirus metrics for Delaware County have dropped, according to data released Friday.
New coronavirus cases dropped by more than 44 percent, going down from 1,340 last week to 745 now. The incidence rate per 100,000 people also saw a similar decreased, with the number going down from 236.4 to 131.5.

Average daily coronavirus specific hospitalizations also saw a significant decrease of nearly 40 percent, with this week's average being 98.3 compared to last week's 163.1.
And, daily average coronavirus patients on ventilators went down from 18.4 to 14.

The county's positive testing rate saw a drop from 14.1 percent to 10.4 percent.
Lastly, the percent of people showing up to hospital emergency rooms with coronavirus-like illnesses went down slightly from 0.8 percent to 0.7 percent.
As of Friday, Delaware County has seen 93,490 cases of the coronavirus and 1,774 coronavirus deaths.
State data shows 347,935 people have been full vaccinated and of those people 147,294 have gotten an addition dose since Aug. 13.
