Delco Closing 2 Drive-Thru COVID Testing Sites Next Week

Officials decided to close the sites as case counts, testing positivity rates, serious illnesses, and hospitalizations continue to drop.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County is closing two high-volume coronavirus testing sites as the virus wanes in the county.

Officials said the drive-thru testing site operated by Personic at the Delaware County Emergency Services Training Center in Sharon Hill will close at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28.

Before it closes at 2 p.m. Monday, testing will be available 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the site, located at 1600 Calcon Hook Road in Sharon Hill.

Then, the drive-thru testing site on the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital campus in Yeadon will close at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1.

Testing at this site, 600 S. Wycombe Ave. in Yeadon, will be available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"The Delaware County COVID-19 Task Force thanks the organizations, including Personic, the PA Department of Health, the Department of Health and Human Services and their Increasing Community Access to Testing Team (ICATT), Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, and eTrueNorth for providing PCR and Rapid Antigen testing for thousands of Delaware County residents during this critical time," officials said.

Free PCR testing will still be available at the Delaware County Wellness Center, 125 Chester Ave. in Yeadon, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at the Keystone First Wellness Center, 1929 W. 9th St. in Chester, on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
